We began “Centre of Excellence” a Public Private Partnership venture with a MoU with state IT Nodal Agency BELTRON, under Department of Information Technology, Government of Bihar for training and capacity building for the different departmental employees of the state as our solution towards good governance enabling. We have trained government officials on Communicative English (State Level Bihar Education Project Council officials, Industrial Training Institute’s English Instructors and newly Bihar Administrative Services & Bihar Financial Service officers through BELTRON, and staff for Department of Post-Govt. of India. Today, we have tie-up with various IT giants and apex institutions like C-DAC (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, NSDC (National Skill Development Corporation), Bihar Skill Development Mission (BSDM) under various ministries of the central and state government to expand our horizons and extend our initiative across the state.

We wish to train at least 1 person from each family towards self-reliance in the information technology and allied technology being used in the state toward enablement of governance. We have dedicated teams and support ecosystem for various ICT solutions, training, HR & examination services, software development, and campus interventions. SCAN Innovation @ICT School Project : We have the privilege to design and develop an innovative concurrent monitoring MIS tool known as School computer Access Network (SCAN). This tool has been used extensively for assessing the up-time of computers working in ICT@school project in Bihar. This MIS application was highly appreciated and got a national award for Transparency in School Administration in a E-Govt. submit at Punjab. We are always on the lookout for improving the first and most innovative asset tracking solution for ICT@School project. Shared Computing Demo Centre : The company is associated with N-Computing Corporation, USA to promote shared computing devices in Bihar projects and channels which is a real revolution in the field of desktop shared computing. This is going to be the future of rural India because of its unique proposition of 1 Watt Power consumption, 50% less cost of acquisition, no maintenance and total saving on the OS and Software.

Non-Conventional Energy (Solar & Wind Hybrid Energy) : We have a technology tie-up with leading non-conventional power generation company VIKRAM SOLAR to cater to all kinds of Solar, Windmill and Hybrid Power generation system here at your doorstep. A demo unit is installed at our Centre of Excellence for hands on live and real-time experience of the technology and transformation.

The greenest NComputing setup in eastern India

CoE (www.coe.co.in) is the Bihar government’s ICT knowledge and technology infrastructure partner, established to promote ICT literacy among the youth of Bihar to enhance their employability skills and to support the training needs of the state’s government employees. CoE has signed a memorandum of understanding to partner with the government of Bihar for a five-year period, to create an IT infrastructure that will facilitate programs and modules related to English communication, soft skills, and interpersonal skills.

The rewards of going green

With the state’s electricity challenges in mind, hybrid energy sources (solar plus wind) were used. And by reducing the number of desktops, air conditioning requirements were also reduced. In acknowledgment for being the greenest NComputing setup in Eastern India so far, CoE received the Go Green innovation award from NComputing in 2011. The Go Green award recognizes companies that have demonstrated leadership by using information technology solutions that support sustainable initiatives. A smart choice that saved money, time, and energy

According to P.K.Sinha, CEO, Centre of Excellence and Director, Astric Computers, “NComputing’s innovative solution gave us the best value for money, with huge savings and a reduced TCO. The flexibility and the ease of use with any operating system made the solution convenient to deploy and use, and the minimal space required to set up the lab has led to substantial space savings for us.” He added, “Our biggest challenge was setting up our lab on time. The fast deployment—followed by cost benefit, zero downtime, the openness of use with any operating system, and optimum space utilization—made this one of the best services we have received to date.” The first pilot lab setup for 100 users was installed within 9 days. Subsequently, this was doubled to accommodate 200 users, with video surveillance, biometric entry/exit, and similar extension centers in 18 districts of Bihar. This additional infrastructure was essential for CoE to cater to the ever-growing training needs of state government employees.

We are dedicating our group’s expertise towards Digital Solutions and Skill Development for social transformation. Our objective is to maximise outreach to the aspiration of the masses, in particular of unemployed youths at large with an ethos of inclusive development. We undertake special initiatives to offer trainings and employability enhancement programmes for uplifting the youth and underprivileged masses and bring them into the mainstream. Mission AGE – Removing the barriers of Age, Gender & Education is one of such example. We are implementing this social initiative at our Army HQ Jharkhand and Bihar, Danapur Cantt - Cobra Skill Development Centre in a state-of-the Art Infrastructure for the Ex-Servicemen and their dependents. This is to overcome issues of formal literacy in the past and move forward in today’s changing scenario.

ICT has become an integral part of our everyday life. The e-governance initiatives taken by the government in recent years have posed a tremendous challenge to create the pool of skilled manpower resources at various levels. The need of the hour is to create ICT enabled government eco-systems and a bank of talented and employment ready work force. We believe that quality education which imparts the skills desired by the industry would help our students eke out a livelihood with dignity. We want to ensure our initiative’s outreach at the grassroots level to include small and budding entrepreneurs in our scope and hub model.

Entre Valley Cum PPP Incubation : An IT destination where Bihar can showcase a perfect example of Public Private Partnership with backend support request from Government of Bihar for a 1lac square feet of space. Located within the city limits of Patna, we are going to be the first such interventions from our end. We have plans to set-up District Level Examination and Skill Centres across Bihar within the next 2-3years. The objective is to rope in major investing organisations to setup at low cost in this incubation facility, we are in search out for 100 IT organisations instead of 10 major IT organisations as these 100 will employ more human resource from our state than 10 would.
